Ascenescent Model
Year: 2018
Media: 3D printed PLA, acrylic, moss
Skills: 3D modelling, 3D printing, hand craft
When I needed to create a very small model of this building, at 1:750 scale, 3D printing was the obvious best choice for fabrication.
The method afforded high fidelity to the design and retained many important details, such as the exterior structural columns and variably extruded surfaces of the facade.
I added some hand-crafted details to the main 3D printed piece, such as acrylic structures to represent glass and tiny bits of moss for the building’s internal green spaces.
