A paper-cut trip down the Elbow River, through time and space.
The short film takes the audience on a journey down the Elbow River through time and space. It begins at the river’s Rocky Mountain origins in Elbow Lake, moves through the foothills and prairies, and finally joins with the Bow River in Calgary. Along the way, we highlight significant “intersections” with the river: crossings, transitions, diversions, invasions, confluences, boundaries, interactions, interfaces, attachments, and immersions.
Our team created all of the backgrounds and animated elements from scratch. We photographed them, and I digitally composited and animated the elements on a tight deadline.
I had never attempted this type of animation before but the learning experience and final results were immensely rewarding .
