When I began selling Cretaceous Critter Coasters at local handmade markets, I wanted to offer a line of smaller products for customers with smaller budgets. So I developed a line of dinosaur-themed pins, inspired by the enamel lapel variety, but made from veneered MDF. The coloured areas have been elaser-engraved to create a depression, then filled with coloured paint. The untouched veneer surfaces remain like raised linework. I varnished the front of each piece and attached pin harware to the back.
