There are sewing projects I’ve done for solid, practical reasons and there are others that I’ve made for pure delight. This pattern, #V9288 by Vogue Patterns, captured my imagination immediately. When, I found a wool-blend coating in just the right green, it felt like the stars had aligned.

I used the project as an opportunity to practice hand-worked button holes. I do most of my sewing by machine, but also use hand-sewing techniques when I find they give more precise control, or a better detail.
