Shortly after finishing my undergraduate degree, I wanted to design a bright, colourful, and playful product that I could produce at scale on a laser cutter and sell at local handmade markets.

I’ve always been fond of dinosaurs, so I designed a set of cartoonish prehistoric characters on circular coasters. The coasters are cut from 3 mm birch plywood, and I finish each one by hand with sanding, paint, and varnish.

I also created numerous supporting materials to help market and sell the coasters, including a logo, packaging, product photos, and spin-off products such as Cretaceous Critter Pins.
